Event Dates

August 4 - August 4, 2018, 1:30pm-3:00pm

Join us as we welcome Toronto-based artist Amanda McCavour as she leads audiences through her practice and work exhibited in 108|Contemporary’s “Amanda McCavour: Diaphanous Embroidery.”

Using a unique approach to embroidery created using a water-soluble base fabric, McCavour creates hundreds of pieces that individually look as though they could unravel at any moment. Once shown in their entirety, these seemingly fragile pieces create an overwhelming sea of color and stitchwork that shows the true strength of the medium. Two of these installations will take over the 108|Contemporary space in a show that audiences will certainly never forget.

Free and open to the public.
