In this exhibition, three of Oklahoma’s furniture artists come together to highlight the art, craft, and design of their practice. Pairing concept sketches with the pieces they become, it shows the process involved in creating these objects. James Henkle’s designs are mid-century modern in style and focus on the simplicity in line. In contrast, the work by his former student, Mark Hawley, introduces the playful and whimsical by making the wood look as though it were made of other materials, such as fabric. Don Narcomey’s work is organic and draws attention to the naturally occurring elements of the wood he uses.
