Meet the Staff
Kathy McRuiz, Executive Director
Kathy McRuiz has a twenty-two year career in program and project management, non-profit development, fundraising, and marketing that includes donor, board and community relations, special events, and budget oversight. She was the Hardesty Arts Center Director from its inception before joining 108|Contemporary in March 2016. McRuiz is a professional artist with a Master of Arts in Arts & Humanities and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Visual Art from the University of Tulsa.
Krystle Brewer, Exhibitions Director
Krystle Brewer holds a BFA from Oklahoma City University and an MA in art history from Oklahoma State University. She has interned and worked for arts organizations including the Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition, the Cultural Development Corporation of Central Oklahoma, and the Oklahoma State University Museum of Art. She joined 108|Contemporary in the Fall of 2014 as the Associate Director and currently serves as the Exhibitions Director. In addition to her art administrative role, she is an active artist and art writer.
Jen Boyd, Exhibitions & Programs Associate
Jen Boyd, the Exhibitions & Programs Associate, manages the 108|Contemporary gift shop, oversees memberships, and assists in the preparation of exhibitions. She graduated from the University of Tulsa with a degree in Arts Management and a certificate in Advertising and graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Masters of Museum Studies. During her time at the University of Tulsa, she participated in an internship in London, England at the London Diorama, organizing an arts festival. Jen also enjoys creating her own works of art, traveling, and cycling.
Ellen McGivern, Communications Associate
Ellen McGivern, the Communications Associate, heads the public relations and social media activity for 108|Contemporary. McGivern is originally from Topeka, KS and attended the University of Kansas where she graduated with a degree in Strategic Communications and a minor in Art History. She was greatly involved in the student advisory board at the Spencer Museum of Art while attending KU, acting as the secretary for her senior year. One of her highlights of working with the organization was being able to meet the artist, James Turrell. When she is not at her place of employment, Ellen enjoys reading, attending concerts, and spending time with her friends and family.
