free – papel picado workshop for adults

Learn the history behind the Mexican tradition of papel picado, or cut paper; watch a hammer and chisel demonstration by artist Kathleen Trenchard; and create your own cut paper work of art using designs created by the artist.

Follies: Kathleen Trenchard

A graduate of Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York with an MFA in printmaking and painting, Kathleen Trenchard maintains a studio near downtown San Antonio where she works in the Mexican tradition of papel picado, or punched paper. Her work explores contemporary designs, applications, and materials.
