In this family friendly workshop, participants watch a hammer and chisel demonstration by the exhibiting artist Kathleen Trenchard and then make their own cut paper projects in the Mexican tradition perfect for Day of the Dead decorations. Ages 7 and up.
Follies: Kathleen Trenchard
A graduate of Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York with an MFA in printmaking and painting, Kathleen Trenchard maintains a studio near downtown San Antonio where she works in the Mexican tradition of papel picado, or punched paper. Her work explores contemporary designs, applications, and materials.
