“My vessels are made by tying hundreds of cotton threads in double half-hitch knots over a form of felted wool or foam. I enjoy transforming these simple materials into the designs and forms I desire. This is perhaps the height of compulsion, but I find the repetition of the knotting to be comforting and calming. The excitement comes from the designing of this knotted surface. I hope the viewer feels both the meditative calmness and the excitement.”
