Supporting Oklahoma contemporary craft artists is central to the mission of 108 Contemporary. We want to continue supporting artists even though our doors are temporarily closed, so we are initiating weekly video chats with our member artists. We hope these conversations will allow you to connect with one another and discuss how COVID-19 is affecting your artistic practice.
We believe the arts are needed more than ever in times of crisis and science supports this belief. Studies show that participating in craft making relieves stress and lessens the effect of serious health conditions. Everyone is feeling anxious during this pandemic, so let’s connect through our mutual love of craft and relieve some stress. We are stronger together-even when it’s virtual!
