108|Contemporary has opened its annual call for shop and featured artists! We are looking for craftspeople whose work represents the cutting edge of the region’s fine craft art. Shop Artists will exhibit throughout the calendar year, rotating new items into the Shop every three months. The Feature Artist program allows for a shorter, but more expansive exhibition that includes a broad promotional plan. Both the Shop Artists and the Feature Artists have opportunities for exposure and exciting benefits that foster the interest in growing the artistic tradition in Oklahoma. Artists are encouraged to apply for both or either opportunity. Spots are limited.

Deadline to submit: September 15, 2021 at MIDNIGHT
Benefits for the Shop Artists of 2022:
- Artists will be routinely featured on all 108|Contemporary social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube.
- Each artist will receive an “Exchange Schedule,” which allows him or her to routinely change out artwork, and visitors to see new works from the artists each month.
- The sales software system will allow our shop artists to track their personal inventory and sales from any device with internet access.
- Inclusion in both the 2021 and 2022 annual Holiday Shop, November through January.
- Inclusion in the online shop.
- 108 Contemporary Individual membership benefits.
Submission Requirements for Shop Artists:
- Current resident of Oklahoma
- Member of 108|Contemporary, contingent on acceptance to The Shop. To become a member visit 108contemporary.org/membership/
- An artist statement – What’s the story behind your craft? What materials and processes do you use and why? Artist statements need not be an essay, but we recommend a full paragraph.
- 5-10 high resolution images (at least 300dpi, larger than 600 x 600 pixels) that represent your current body of work. Please label images with title of work and price points.

Benefits for the Feature Shop Artists of 2022:
- $250 stipend to create new and innovative work for the featured month
- A highlighted feature space in The Shop that will be exhibited for a two-month period in 2022.
- 10% discount for patrons (deducted from 108|Contemporary’s portion of the sale)

- Free membership for the following year
- Exclusive video interview promoted in gallery and online
- Featured positions in the online shop
Submission Requirements for Feature Artist:

- 5-10 high resolution images (at least 300dpi, larger than 600 x 600 pixels) that best represent your current body of work
A brief proposal of 250-300 words that best describes how you would use the stipend, how this opportunity would elevate your body of work, and how the work created with the stipend would contribute to broadening the horizons of contemporary fine craft.
